Our Interior Design History

Susan's journey in the world of interior design began at one of the most esteemed textile and wallcovering manufacturers, Schumacher & Company. From 1998 to 2001 she served as Design Director where she crafted high-end fabric collections and collaborated with some of the industry's top designers. Here, Susan developed her ability to forecast design and color trends, a skill that has become a hallmark of her work.

In 2002, Susan launched her own interior design business. Her reputation for excellence quickly grew, leading her to serve as Creative Director at Scalamandre from 2010 to 2012 while maintaining her own business. There, she expanded her expertise by designing a variety of fabrics, wallcoverings, and furniture collections, further solidifying her place in the design world.

Consulting, Custom Designs, and Current Work in Interior Design

Today, Susan consults for several textile manufacturers and mills, both domestically and internationally. Her work involves creating exclusive designs and color palettes that perfectly represent her clients' individual aesthetics. Susan also works with other interior designers in collaborative projects developing custom textile patterns and pieces.

Studies

Susan studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, earning degrees in Fine Arts and Textile Design. She also attended Cal State Long Beach in California and the New York School of Interior Design, further refining her skills and expanding her design knowledge.

Susan is known for two things, the interior design knowledge she has developed through her various projects AND in unmatched creative flair she brings to every project she undertakes. A career of working with some of the largest figures in the design industry has resulted in Susan developing an unparalleled understanding of textiles, designs, aesthetics, and more making her an invaluable asset in the world of interior design.
